How do you qualify for entry into the World Series of Poker?
If you feel like you have got what it takes to join the greatest poker players in the world, then the World Series of Poker is calling you. This event is the boss of poker events and it takes place in the summer in Las Vegas. We are talking about a scorching 110-degree Fahrenheit temperature in the middle of the Nevada desert.
You can bring your expertise and meet the best and the worst of the poker elite. What does it take to enter the competition? Poker is such a beautiful game and does not discriminate as to age or gender. There were 6,638 players, all of them competing for the grand prize of $10 million.
So, here’s the deal. Back when WSOP started in 1970, it was an invitational event with only 7 players (a far cry from last year!). In 1971, a buy-in of $5,000 was required until it was raised to twice that in 1972 and has been such ever since. So, you want in to the main event? Go check your bank account and if you have $5000, you could sit at the table with some of the great poker players.
However, you can still qualify for WSOP tournaments for just a few dollars or even for free. If you still want to make it to the Main Event, go to a WSOP 2016 poker online qualifier to prove yourself. You can also use satellites (as well as online qualifiers) to win tournaments online and then be sponsored to enter the WSOP in Las Vegas. Good luck!
